Al joined our Board of Trustees in 2018. Al is the Principal of Exponent Capital Partners Inc, a private equity investment firm, a Trustee of Granite Real Estate Investment Trust, and Director of Extendicare Inc. In his previous board experience, he has served as a Trustee at Boardwalk Real Estate Investment Trust, SmartCentres Real Estate Investment Trust, Slate Official Real Estate Investment Trust, IPC US Real Estate Investment Trust. Al was also the director of Amica Mature Lifestyle Inc., President and CEO of Rodenbury Investments Limited, President and CEO of SmartCentres Real Estate Investment Trust, and CFO of Oxford Properties Group. In his academic achievements, Al is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), has an MBA from the University of Toronto, and an LL.M from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University. Al’s background includes living in East Africa, where he was born and attended high school, as well as the UK, United States, and Canada. His travels have included visiting every major EXPO in recent years, including Vancouver, Brisbane, Lisbon, Seville, and Shanghai.
