Paul joined First Capital’s Board of Trustees in 2019 and was appointed Chair of the Board in 2023. He has been the Group Head, Canadian Business Banking at TD Bank Group since 2004. Mr. Douglas has had a distinguished career at TD for over 40 years where he has held positions of increasing responsibility in a number of areas including retail banking, commercial banking, corporate banking, investment banking and risk management. Paul has a keen interest in higher learning and served as Vice-Chair on the McMaster University Board of Governors for 12 years including as Chair. Mr. Douglas is the former Chair of TD’s Diversity Leadership Council subcommittee on promoting and enhancing a supportive environment for LGBTQ2+ employees and clients.
