About The Staging

The Staging is an art installation inspired by the annual migration of King Salmon. Composed of origami‑inspired salmon sculptures crafted from translucent, iridescent plastic, the work evokes the moment when salmon gather at a tributary, such as the Humber River, pausing at a dam or fishway before continuing their journey upstream.

A central cluster of thirty suspended forms suggests this collective anticipation, while additional salmon extend along
the corridor and into the Breezeway, guiding viewers through the space.
